We would like to congratulate all our students for the great effort training for and participating in the Pan-American Championship. For most it was the first experience in tournaments.  We are very proud of their commitment and dedication in representing our school during one of the biggest Jiu Jitsu tournaments in the world!

For the first time ever we took a group of girls to a BJJ tournament, and they didn’t disappoint.

We will be hosting our traditional Gracie Barra belt ceremony soon! All our students, friends and family are welcome to join in the fun!   As usual, the ceremony will be followed by a typical Brazilian BBQ made by professor Rodrigo Clark. Thats right!  Our dear Professor will be sharing some secrets of the Brazilian cuisine with us! Besides our belt promotion and delicious BBQ our little champions and friends will be able to participate in our first GBSB kids soccer tournament!  Stay tuned for more info about our special event!!!

Pan-American Championship is now part of the past. We had 15 students participating in the tournament and they all did a great job representing our school. Now It’s time to get your Jiu-Jitsu game together and represent our school on the Gracie Barra Season Opener. This tournament is open to Gracie Barra schools only and will gather GB students from all over the state. The top 3 schools will take home a beautiful custom trophy! Sign up for the tournament and help us become the #1 Gracie Barra competition team!

On April 8,9,10 and 11th IBJJF International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation will be hosting the Pan American Championship, one of the largest and most traditional tournaments in the world. Thousands of competitors from all over the world participate in this event every year.

This year, 19 of our top students will be representing Gracie Barra Santa Barbara at the Pan Ams and we would like to invite you to go support our team during the event.

Everyone in our competition team is training hard and we are confident that all our students will do great at the tournament.

Out of all Gracie Barra schools in the country we are the school with the most students registered for this tournament! We are very proud of all of you for your effort in entering this tournament.

Everyone knows that Gracie Barra is famous for producing some of the best BJJ competitors and for being the world’s #1 competition team. It’s our responsibility to help maintain that tradition and keep the legacy alive. Gracie Barra Santa Barbara has among its goals for 2010 to build a solid competition team.We are putting together a Pan American Trial open to all GBSB students interested in participating in the up-coming event which will take place at UC Irvine, April 8, 9, 10, and 11.There will be a qualifying contest  here at the Academy next Monday, March 22, from 7-9pm. All Blue Belts are welcome to participate.  There is no registration fee for the trial and the winner will have the registration for the PanAms paid by the academy.So, put the GBSB PanAms Trial on your calendar and be ready next Monday evening!
